Roger Staubach Presents Lombardi Trophy to Green Bay Packers After Predicting Them to Win Super Bowl XLV. Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach handed the Lombardi Trophy to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to present to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Cowboys Stadium following their 31-25 Super Bowl XLV win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Staubach, considered by many to be a legendary quarterback in the NFL's history, won Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII with the Cowboys during his career. But perhaps more interesting is Staubach not only predicted the Packers to win, but did so using his current expertise in real estate to do so. Staubach is currently the Americas executive chairman at Jones Lang La Salle, a global financial and professional services firm specializing in real estate.
Staubach predicted the Packers to win Super Bowl XLV based on real estate vacancy rates. According to Jones Lang La Salle, teams based in cities with the highest real estate vacancy rates have prevailed in the Super Bowl almost two-thirds of the time since 2000.Perhaps everyone should have been looking at Staubach's prediction more closely before Super Bowl XLV, a Hall of Fame quarterback not only using his playing experience as a measure of the outcome but also his business expertise.
